Description
The word dhansak means “wealthy” and thus this is a very special dish usually made with best cuts of meat and special care taken over the preparation and cooking.
This is a curry based primarily with lentils and made with various kinds of meats or vegetables.
Other ingredients you will require:
500g meat or chicken
1 large onion (chopped)
2 cloves garlic (chopped)
1 large potato (chopped)
2 carrots (sliced)
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 400g tin chopped tomatoes
150gm mixed lentils (rinsed and drained)
500ml warm water (approx)
Salt and pepper to taste.
