A spicy fish & banana dish typical of Caribbean fayre as it uses two foodtypes from the staple diet. The banana perfectly complements the fish. Add to this the flavours of the spinach, tomatoes and onions and you have a very satisfying and extremely tasty meal. Something out of the ordinary if you are entertaining or just want to ring the changes. As with all our curries, it’s adaptable so why not try it with chicken, prawns or vegetables (remember to adjust the cooking time to suit your chosen ingredients).

Other ingredients you will require:
450g cubed fish fillets (monkfish or similar chunky fish works best)
3 tbsp olive oil
2 onions, thinly sliced
3 tomatoes, seeded and chopped
225 gm fresh spinach leaves
150 gm Greek yoghurt
1 large banana (chopped)
Fresh coriander leaves (optional)

Feel free to replace the fresh tomatoes & spinach with tinned, for an even easier-peasier experience!
Serves 3-4 people



Garlic, Cayenne, Turmeric, Ginger, Coriander. Black Pepper (may contain nuts)

    Easy to make, yes, but also a very impressive dish for entertaining. My only problem is that it can sometimes be hard to find monkfish and I tried it once with regular cod and although it was still very tasty it’s MUCH better with the meaty texture of monkfish or similar.
