I bought this with their curry sauce when it was my turn to entertain our neighbours. They were well impressed and it is a perfect dish to make and have in the oven ready to serve so I didn’t have to be in the kitchen when my guests arrived. Very authentic

Though similar to the ones in Thalassery and Kozhikode, this biryani differs with lingering after-notes of mashed onions laced with garlic, and a few chillies and spices littered with curry leaves lends a unique flavour to Bhatkal biryani.

Many years ago I asked Pauline if she did a biryani curry so she created this one for me. I love it. I always make a double portion along with the curry sauce
